The effort to encourage Placer County residents to embrace homelessness are visible from the transformation of the Sun Rose Apartments, previously a Hampton Inn & Suites, through the Homekey initiative headed by AMI Housing. This $29.5 million mission will result in 83 extremely low-income units and support for individuals in hard to access services thanks to its onsite house manager and social servies offerings. The conversion is expected by December 2022 when Sun Rose removes renovations such as kitchenettes from its checklist.

Reducing Homelessness in Roseville and Placer County
Sun Rose Apartments is proud to be a part of the effort to reduce homelessness in Roseville and Placer County. The 2023 Point-in-Time homeless census released by the Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras (HRCS) showed that the estimated number of people experiencing homelessness decreased compared to the previous year. This is a testament to the hard work put in by those on the ground working to ensure individuals can access permanent housing and the resources needed for long term success. Studies have also shown that this type of program can yield an annual cost savings of approximately $31,545 per person, and further reduces impacts on emergency rooms, public safety response, and emergency shelters.
