Exciting Additions to the 85th Annual Placer County Fair

The Placer County Fair in Roseville, Calif. is thrilled to announce the return of its 85th annual fair from June 22-25. This year’s fair is set to be bigger and better than ever with exciting additions, as well as the beloved carnival rides, concerts, live entertainment, livestock exhibit, Family Fun Zone, Rib Cook-off and Miss Placer County Scholarship Pageant. The Placer County Fair is inviting residents to compete in dozens of still exhibit categories and local small-business owners to showcase their unique arts and crafts or delicious food offerings. The four-day event, which takes place June 22-25, is also looking for corporate sponsors and volunteers to contribute to its success. Applications can be found at placercountyfair.org and must be submitted by May 22 for commercial vendors, and by May 30 for still exhibitors. There is no fee for youth up to 18 to enter their still exhibits and only a $5 fee for adults, with all entrants receiving a free fair admission ticket. The Placer County Fair is proud to celebrate its 85th anniversary by awarding $85 to all adult Best of Show still exhibit winners – more than triple the amount from last year – in addition to Blue Ribbons and bragging rights throughout the year. With a new slogan of “The Summer Fun Starts Here”, the Fair brings festivities for everyone – from tasty BBQ at the third annual Placer County Rib Cook-off to kid-friendly rides and concerts, there are plenty of attractions to have a good time. Small business owners can also take advantage of the abundant fairgoers who come to see the livestock exhibit, custom jewelry and Venezuelan food.

Exciting Opportunities for Businesses

Jessica Solis is thrilled to be a part of the unique business opportunities presented by the Sacramento-area Fair. With 20 food vendors and 150 commercial vendors in the new Roebbelen Center, fairgoers have plenty of options to choose from. Aimee Fankhauser, Event Manager and Vendor Coordinator for @the Grounds, has noted that they are “basically creating a trade show inside the fair” with the changes they have made, offering both heated and cooled areas for customers to explore. This creates an exciting opportunity for businesses like Jessica’s Ice Cold Candy Co. and This Chick Craft Company to showcase their products to a wide variety of potential customers.

Carnival Areas for All Ages

Family Fun Zone and Livestock Exhibit and Auction

The All American Speedway will host a race on Saturday night, while the Fair provides a Stand-Up Photo Cutout Board Contest with the potential to win $500. To make the event enjoyable for all ages, two carnival areas have been created – one with adult and teen rides and another with kid-friendly games and rides. As well as this, there is a community stage, Family Fun Zone with family-friendly games, and a livestock exhibit and auction, which saw an impressive 52% increase in sales last year to $427,000.

Entertainment at the Miss Placer County Scholarship Pageant

The Miss Placer County Scholarship Pageant is a much-anticipated annual event, kicking off the Fair on Thursday evening and continuing into Friday. Spectators can look forward to exciting entertainment every day, including Circus Imagination, Sean Watson-Master of Illusion, and Wild About Monkeys featuring Mickey the Baboon—a renowned movie and TV star. The Attaway Pavilion, opened last summer in honor of late CEO David Attaway, hosts an array of live music and drinks from 8-10 p.m. Thursday with the Spazmatics, Wonder Bread 5 on Friday, and Outlaw Mariachi on Sunday.

Discounts are available for military personnel and seniors aged 65 or older – they save $2 per ticket before June 21!
