Placer County and AMI Housing are converting the former Hampton Inn & Suites Roseville to Sun Rose Apartments, a permanent supportive housing project funded by California’s Project Homekey. With 83 units made available for extremely low-income and homeless tenants, along with case management support through Placer County’s homeless resource helpline, 2-1-1, the project will bring much needed stability to these individuals.
Placer County and AMI Housing are proud to announce the conversion of the former Hampton Inn & Suites Roseville on Sunrise Avenue and Douglas Boulevard into Sun Rose Apartments for permanent supportive housing. This project was awarded $23.5 million funding from the State of California’s project Homekey, with a total cost of $29.5 million. The funding will be used to buy hotels, motels and other properties to create long-term supportive housing, with AMI Housing serving as the developer and manager of the Sun Rose Apartments.
It is estimated that the 83 units will be available for leasing to extremely low-income and homeless people by June 2023, with minor rehabilitation of the units, including kitchenettes in each unit, to be completed by December 2023.
Through Placer County’s homeless resource helpline, 2-1-1, residents will be referred to the program and receive personalized case management that helps them remain engaged in employment or vocational activities, as well as mental health, medical and other services they may need.
