The Sierra College Natural History Museum in Rocklin launched the Heritage Trail on June 3 and it will culminate on September 2 at the Forest Hill Divide Museum in Foresthill and the 20-Mile Museum and History Hub in the Truckee/Tahoe/Donner Summit area. Along the trail, visitors are invited to join in fun, family-friendly activities such as live music, historical reenactments, and more. A bonus is the ‘Get Up and Go’ card, which can be picked up at any participating museum to be eligible for a gift basket drawing if eight stamps are collected.

For those who cannot join the Heritage Trail Day, museums are still open during regular hours of operation and visitors can still get their Get-Up-Go cards stamped. Furthermore, students in K to 12th grade entering in the Fall of 2023 have the opportunity to win a Samsung Galaxy tablet, a Kindle Fire, or backpacks full of school supplies by completing a student scavenger hunt card, available at participating museums.
